Just an average day

Lying in my bed this morning, awaiting 2 nurses from the local hospital to come and change the tubes in my stomach, I pondered on life. I had a new carer. A lovely, cheerful lady but totally unfamiliar with how to put a sling on me so that I could be hoisted out of bed successfully. My carer pushed and pulled at me franticly, until I finally ended up with my lower legs hanging off the end of the bed and the overhead hoist aimed at my head rather than my mid-point.

I sighed. Getting up was going to be difficult today.
